The Two Centuries Tour
Wednesday-Friday - 2:00pm
Saturday & Sunday - 12:00pm, 2:00pm
This walking tour is a survey of Staten Island through time - beginning with an encounter of the Native Encampment, depicting 1640s contact period, followed by the Voorlezer’s House, interpreting the early colony of Cocclestown, the Christopher House, circa 1720, which witnessed the divided loyalties of Staten Island in the Revolution, and the Guyon Lake Tysen House, which reveals the story of slavery and emancipation in 1820s New York.
1820s Village Life Tour
Saturday & Sunday - 11:00am, 1:00pm
This tour focuses on the early 19th century on Staten Island, in which a young nation is rapidly expanding and grappling with the American democratic experiment. Discover the role taverns played in local society, as a gathering and polling place; learn about the trades industrious Staten Islanders worked at the Basket Maker's house and the Kruser-Finley House Broom Shop; explore an 1820s kitchen in the Guyon-Lake-Tysen House, where enslaved and emancipated Africans labored.

Access to the Open Village, daily programs, and the Historical Museum. Visit the Museum galleries and watch Costumed interpreters present living history demonstrations in historic houses and shops throughout the site. Daily programs begin June 5 and include talks and demonstrations of trades, political life in the 19th century, the evolution of 1850s fashions, and what life was like for the Native people who lived on Staten Island over 300 years ago. Set against the backdrop of the woods and wetlands surrounding the site, Open Village is an immersive experience that educates and inspires.

Buildings & programs vary daily. Call for more information (718) 351-1611. Ticket holders can arrive any time during operating hours, but it is recommended to arrive by 3pm in order to experience the village in its entirety.
*Free Admission Hours are offered from 2-4pm on THURSDAYS ONLY. tickets required. reserve online or at the door. Free admission does not apply to Group Reservations. Advanced reservation for groups larger than 10 is REQUIRED.
Veterans Day: Active duty military and veterans, and their families (up to 6 people) receive complimentary admission with an additional 25% off for others in the party. Note – Military discounts available with military and photo ID at the Courthouse Visitor Center only.

Historic Richmond Town’s Decker Farm is open seasonally and access is not included in a general admission ticket.

Group Reservations
Historic Richmond Town offers discounted group rates to parties of 10 or more and welcome many types of visits, including, but not limited to adults and kids of all ages; colleges and universities, groups of visitors with disabilities (please see our Accessibility page for additional details), camps and youth groups.

Located in the heart of Staten Island, Historic Richmond Town is a 15-minute drive from all bridges and a 30-45 minute ride from the Staten Island ferry on the S74 bus. We have FREE parking. If you are visiting us from midtown Manhattan by public transportation you will have a relaxing trip via ferry but please expect 90 minutes of travel time to and from Historic Richmond Town.
Admission to Open Village, the Museum, and Guided Tours are available in the Historic Third County Courthouse/Visitor Center, located at 441 Clarke Avenue. Parking is FREE and plentiful.
